Using a child-focused and non-judgemental lens, we encourage parents to reduce conflict and resolve differences as they move through separation phases and beyond.

Our ultimate aim is to develop parenting arrangements in the best interests of children, and to foster healthy ongoing relationships between children, parents, and other family members. In suitable cases, this may involve parental consultations that include children, allowing their views to be heard. We also provide access to therapeutic group sessions for children experiencing family separation.

Family Relationship Services

Family Relationship Services consists of four family law programs and one financial counselling program. Our family law programs are funded by and under the policy responsibility of the Attorney-General’s Department. The following programs aim to provide alternatives to formal legal processes for families who are separated, separating or in dispute, to improve their relationships and make arrangements in the best interests of their children..
